ORDINATION SERVICE 2025
On Sunday, 21 September, we had a special service conducted by Bishop Peter Makapela, at which Johan Walters and Matthew Courtney were ordained as Presbyters, and Sigrid Holscher was made a Deacon. Other REACH Bishops and Presbyters, as well as family and friends, and of course our beloved +CSW church-family, witnessed and celebrated this momentous occasion together.
The purpose of these two offices in the church (Presbyters and Deacons) is to recognise a person’s calling, gifting, and godly character, and to set them apart for Word ministry and leadership in the local church. This aligns with the complementarian nature of ministry in the Bible recognised by REACH SA, as well as the practice of the Reformed Anglican church worldwide, in which men and women are given formal recognition to hold ministry offices appropriate within the structure of biblical male-headship in the local church.
